Mewbi Finder glasses: scanning and screen privacy

Learn how to start a Mewbi Finder-glasses scan, its account and permission requirements, cloud snapshot processing, and usage or network limits.

Finder glasses are an optional Play Pack feature. After you explicitly start a scan, Mewbi sends the selected image and your question to a cloud vision service to help find things on screen.

What you need before scanning

  • A purchased Play Pack activated on this device. Finder glasses do not have a trial.
  • An active online session matching the Play Pack account.
  • Internet access and Screen Recording permission, with capture not paused.
  • Available service quota and an available cloud service.

Review screen permission and scan scope in Settings → Privacy. Free basic companionship does not require sign-in or granting permissions for this feature.

Start an explicit scan

  1. Choose Finder glasses from the cat’s menu. Read and confirm the cloud-processing explanation first.
  2. Check whether the scope is the current window or screens. Move sensitive content away and leave unrelated windows out of the capture.
  3. Enter what you want to find, then explicitly choose to start scanning.
  4. Treat the result as a recognition suggestion and confirm it against the actual screen. Vision can miss or misidentify things, and positions can become stale when windows move.

The glasses animation on this website demonstrates the prop’s appearance and motion. It does not read your screen and is not a real search result.

How the image is processed

The snapshot and query travel over a secure connection through Mewbi’s service to TypeSafe. Mewbi’s proxy does not store or log screenshots, questions or answers. The provider processes submitted data under its own privacy policy and applicable terms; the proxy’s non-storage is not a promise of zero retention by the provider. Scan and request counters support rate limits and cost controls. See the Privacy Policy for retention details.

This is a different data path from local window-edge perception. Do not scan passwords, private communications, payment details or content you are not entitled to submit. In sensitive situations, leave cloud scanning off and use local companionship and activated local toys instead.

If a scan is unavailable

Read the actual error: verify again if sign-in expired; restore through Account & Play Pack if the device license does not match; review permission and pause state if screen capture stopped; retry later if the network or service is unavailable. If a usage limit is reached, follow the displayed guidance rather than switching accounts or repeatedly clicking to bypass it.

A permanent local license does not include a permanent, unlimited or always-online cloud service. Ordinary local companionship remains available if cloud search cannot run. See purchase recovery and Play Pack service scope.
